Debi Cox
Originally a singing member of the chorus, Debi became musical director of Capital Connection in 2003 and with her determination and musical vision has guided the chorus to competitive success.
Debi has been a scoring judge in the Music category for the Ladies' Association of British Barbershop Singers (LABBS) since 2001 and has adjudicated in England, Ireland and Holland, as well as training and working with the judging community of the Barbershop Harmony Society in the USA. Debi became Education & Judging Chairman and Education Director for LABBS in 2012, and did 2 terms in the post until 2018. Since stepping down from that role she continued to organise educational events for LABBS culminating in a successful nationwide "Harmony College" in the spring of 2019, and has since returned to a second stint as the Music Category Director for the judging programme. Debi is therefore at the forefront of driving ladies' barbershop ahead for the UK and is also available to coach other choruses, directors and quartets on all aspects of performance.
Debi is assisted in rehearsals by two Assistant Directors, Linda Stevens and Sue Madden, and forward planning is a teamwork effort with the "Performance Management Sub-Committee", made up of representation from the teams of assistant directors, section leaders, presentation, costume and show management.
